Our environment is too important to be complacent about the architecture that surrounds us on a daily basis.  It was with this in mind that we proceeded with the planning and design of Capitol West.  It’s been said before that there’s nothing like it in Madison, and we’ll second that notion. Designed by three nationally renowned designers from across the country, Capitol West boasts homes as diverse as the architects that designed them. The Capitol Court Townhomes and Washington Rowhouses promote a pedestrian-oriented streetscape, one that takes advantage of sunlight, views, and green space.  The solution begins with the front porch, moves to the backyard garden, and extends upwards to the rooftop terrace.  To gain more square footage and create an extraordinary living space, The Alexander Company designed 309 West Washington, a modern steel structure adapting an existing concrete and steel core.  The result is light and modern architecture, with expansive glass, balconies, and terraces.  To soften the scale, the building pops up with glass, and out with cantilevered decks and bays.  Corner windows capture multiple downtown views. On the western end of the block sit the Broom Street Lofts, marking either the beginning or end of the mews that runs throughout the site.  Utilizing a wide material palette ranging from concrete block to steel to cedar siding, the Broom Street Lofts bring vibrant architecture to a previously unused area.

Finishes - With an array of high quality finish packages; Capitol West has interior designs to suit all urban homeowners.  Built with high quality craftsmanship, interior packages reflect the modern stylings of Capitol West’s exteriors.  The Modela, Centro and Galleria packages include solid surface or granite countertops, custom cabinetry, hardwood floors, GE Energy Star appliances, and Kohler and Grohe kitchen and bath fixtures.

Views - With large expanses of glass and an excellent location, Capitol West takes advantage of natural light and sight lines that afford spectacular views.  The State Capitol pops from its location two blocks away, while panoramic views of Lakes Mendota and Monona create picturesque scenes of Madison.
